An important meeting regarding St. Mary’s Villa property with presenters from the three developers is on Tuesday, March 14, 2017 at 7 pm., at the Upper Dublin Township Building on Loch Alsh Avenue. There is no reason why an important historical property from the late 1800s cannot be maintained by the township with help from the state, donations and castle rental. It is the third historical gem in our area after Hope Lodge and the Highlands both in Fort Washington, White Marsh Township, PA. So far the developers have not made a strong enough case that the building will be renovated and brought up to code. There are many other problems with the Lake being drained, the dam being taken down and not replaced if the Corps of Engineers allow it and the tremendous traffic jams and problems that will occur just by having at least 1000 people on 45 acres that were woods for as long as I have known it. We believe the property should be kept as open space, the historic castle should be brought up to code and the lake should be repaired.
Please join us on Tuesday, March 14 at 7 p.m. in the Upper Dublin Township Building to hear developer presentations, the Historic Society presentation and more.
